MCKS-FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY- is a nongovernmental organization that sternly pledges to see a future where no one sleeps early. The organization is based near Vasant Kunj Enclave, Delhi and is incessantly providing relief funds to the daily wage laborers who are stranded there with no income and food due to the dire cause of COVID-19.
Unlike any other organization, MCKS is consistent and is quite big on generosity. They have started the campaign of feeding the daily- wagers since 25th march and it’s safe to say they have successfully managed to feed at least 10, 00,000 of them. They have served cooked food as well as bread packets as a collective work by their members as well as their donors. They have actively collaborated with Delhi Police to ensure that the meals are going to the right people-the daily wagers, their families, the homeless and the sick.
They have candidly narrated the story of an 18 year old boy who came to their kitchen seeking food in their instagram post. They had instantly provided him with a hot plate of rajma as a warm gesture of kindness. They say that incidents like these remind them to work harder and feed those who are sleeping with a hungry stomach every day.
With the behemoth pace they are striving towards making India hunger free, it is not blasphemous to say that someday it might as well come true.
