This is the story of Maharastra based NGO Red Crescent Society of India which consists of ordinary humans with not so ordinary zeal to help out people in need at any time. We have known people who teach underprivileged children for free, but this NGOÂ took this to one step further.
This organization visited a village to teach children for free. Soon they realized that students are not showing up in the classes in the number they expected. So they asked the students’ parents about this. The parents told them that if they send their kids in schools then who would earn the share of the money their kids earned as a daily wage worker. After listening to this, the NGO decided to offer the parents the daily wage their children were earning so that their children could attend their classes.Â
In the time of the global pandemic, they are doing the best of their capacity. They have started Operation Jeevan Sangarsh. In this they have distributed almost 70000 kg of ration to more than 49 centers in Mumbai, Thane, and palghar district. More than 5000 families have received ration kits till now. Ration kits are comprised of 5kg atta, 5kg rice, dal, sugar, oil, salt, etc.
