Disaster Relief NGO providing Ration and Hygiene KitsÂ
In the wake of coronavirus, India's First Disaster Relief NGO Rapid Response has been volunteering as well as distributing the essential items to the common public. The organization's last intervention was in the Kerela Floods.
Tamil Nadu based NGO Rapid Response was founded by International Development Consultant Mohamad Farukh in 2013 after he felt a lack of expertise and coordination among NGOs in dealing with disasters. The organization has since then responded to 17 disasters including Bihar floods, Gaja Cyclone, and Fani cyclone Odisha. They claim that Rapid Response responds to major disasters within 24 hours of the event
Award-winning Rapid Response is supplying two types of kits to COVID-19 affected people. Dry Ration & Hygiene Relief Supplies. From the official data, Dry ration Relief Kits Costs Rs 1000/- and includes Rice, Wheat, Dal, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt & Biscuit Packets. Safety & Hygiene Kits is worth Rs 600/- which includes Handwash Liquid, Soap, Dettol, Phenol, Bleaching Powder, Masks, Kerchiefs, and Awareness pamphlets. Around 11,00 hygiene kits and 16,500 dry ration kits have been distributed while maintaining the social distancing norm.Â
