“Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.”
Arthur Schopenhauer
SFA or Speak for Animals is a non-profit organisation working selflessly towards the cause of animals. They rescue, provide medical help and fight against animal cruelty. SFA is broadly based in Odisha with its members conducting themselves in different district.
The non-profit organization has been actively serving our voiceless friends since late 2017 and even got acknowledged by Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik for their excellent service in a tweet made on 30th march 2020.
SFA has come forwards with a mission “Hunger Free Bhubaneswar for Animals” aiming to look after the needs of animals during nationwide lockdown.
Initially the provision was to provide for 9 days where a set of team would go around the city from “9pm f0r the next 9 days” catering to almost 2000 strays in the city, but with prolonged days, came many difficulties. SFA campaign for “Hunger Free Bhubaneswar for Animals” broadened to much larger spectra and became a state wide campaign. Under the campaign the members feed almost 2000 stray animals daily with the funds gathered from the members themselves and the donators.
Along with this, they have saved many animal lives during the past days. On 26th April, during their feeding drive, SFA members found a dead dog lying opposite to federal bank ATM on infocity road. The members fired and FIR against the culprit and gave it a honorable burial.
The pup was buried with love and care.In times like these when most people would deem looking after strays to be something trivial, SFA members are going out of their comfort zone and looking out for them, subtly reminding them that they are not alone. We salute compassionate souls like these.
WE SALUTE OUR LEAD KINDNESS HEROES SFA FORM BHUBANESWAR
